Hello Advisors,
Please help me with a tricky situation that happened a couple of days ago. I have a client who I have been working with for a couple of months now. He is older than I and very professional. He called me yesterday and it was immediately obvious that he had been heavely drinking or drugging due to his slurred speach and inability to carry on a conversation. There were several uncomfortable long pauses. I finally said, "is there anything else"? to which he replied, "I just want to talk to you". I told him that I was unable to talk right then and ended the conversation.
Now, I know that people drink. Was this a bad day for him? Was he lonely? Was he being inappropriate? Should I overlook it and carry on as usual in the future? Our relationship and work relies heavely on trust. Can he be trusted? I don't know what to say to him the next time he calls.
May I have your advice please in this very delicate situation.
Thanking you in advance.
Christine
